The Fathers of Autism Coalition Team (FACT) was created by one of our co-founders after finding how difficult it was for a father to relate to his child diagnosed with Autism. Most of the programs available today for families are geared towards mothers or the family as a whole.

FACT focuses on providing avenues for fathers everywhere. To help them learn the tools of the trade needed for working with their child, and how to help best support their family with the difficult trials associated with Autism.

Some of the aspects FACT places its focus on are, coping skills, home management skills and techniques, bonding with your child, and creating balance within the family. It is no secret that men learn differently than women. FACT is not a support group for men, it is in fact a learning tool for fathers, grandfathers, or any male figure in a child’s life looking for answers to Autism toughest challenges.

We started the Autism in the Churchplace Program in 2006 after discovering the difficulties families were having attending their churches. The Autism in the Churchplace Program is not a religious program, but an Autism Program designed to work with churches of all denominations to help them better understand the affects of Autism and the effect it has on the family.

Families from all background and faiths look to their place or worship as a safe place, where they should feel accepted regardless of any issues they may have within their family. Being turned away or treated poorly in their place of worship is by far a devastating circumstance.

The Autism in the Churchplace Program works with churches and their current method of operation to help them become more accommodating of children with Autism as well as their family. By helping to create an all inclusive environment families across the country are now returning to their churches and feeling extremely comfortable within their community of worship.

Started in 2008, the Autism for Grandparents Workshop series focuses on issues faced by grandparents confronted with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Many families face great difficulty when explaining Autism and its effects to grandparents. As with our fathers program, we have found that grandparents too find themselves lost when trying to understand and relate to their grandchild.

The Autism for Grandparents series consists of 3 parts, each growing more in depth than the previous. We also have handbooks and materials for grandparents who wish to get involved immediately instead of waiting for the next series to begin.

For more information of to find updates on upcoming workshops, please contact our office for further details.

Our Autism Family Workshop Series is new in 2009. Focusing on the core strength of the family and how to operate successfully as a team is the primary focus. Many workshops cover treatment options and available techniques to work with your child. Our workshops focus mainly on the family as a unit, teaching parents how to work not only with their child with ASD, but with siblings, outside family members and even friends. It is important to help families realize their true potential and what working together as a team can accomplish in all of their lives.

Text Box: Our founding program, the grants and scholarships program is one of our primary focuses. Helping families to seek out treatment, therapy, and schooling otherwise unattainable to their budget.

Through our various programs and the generosity of our supporters, we are able to offer our grants and scholarships to families across the country.

EMS Autism Education Protocol

The E.A.E.P. program was created by the Autism Help Network to introduce and instruct EMS workers on the aspects of autism and how they can better be prepared to deal with it in the event of an emergency.

The E.A.E.P. program is more than an awareness program for EMS. This program is interactive in working with EMS, parents and children on creating a structured protocol in emergency cases.
